For an exhibit titled and themed “we heart paper” I created a a forest scene with 6 sheets of laser-cut A3 paper sandwiched between sheets of clear acrylic. I drew the artwork in illustrator, then got the 6 sheets of white paper laser cut in sydney by the amazing Luke Hooker of engraved.com.au.
I endeavoured to push the delicacy of the laser cut paper to the edge, knowing it would be secured by the tightly sandwiched acyrlic sheets. The amazing detail is hard to capture in a photo – especially with the white on white.
The “we heart paper” exhibition ended up being the first for the we heart collective, and we now exhibit several times a year.
