Alpine Trout Farm is a family owned Smoked Trout producer in the Alpine National Park of Australia. They are a brand focused on quality, experience and doing one thing right for decades.
In 2017 they considered a rebrand for their product and I produced this collateral for them.
Maybe it’s my legit love of smoked trout or that I managed to work in all my favourite colours to one brand, but it was one of my most favourite branding proposals I’ve ever created.
I was pretty devastated it didn’t proceed (for unknown reasons) and will never sit on shelves. Sometimes it just goes that way :(
BRANDING
The branding needed to work in the fresh alpine water, the mountains and trouts. I wanted the brand to be focused around illustrated keylines and strong san-serif typography. It’s a premium product, but majority of the competitors in the market all do a sapphire blue / foil combo, so my core goal was to make ATF look fresh and new sitting next to them.
COLOURS
The colour palette consisted of a dusty green of the Australian bush, mixed with a colour palette of crisp clean colours – teal, light blue and pink to compliment the distinctive orange of the trout product. Paired back with lots of white and light grey to keep it modern and fresh – and a minimal use of black for impact on key info.
